September 17th

The crowd falls into abrupt silence again as Garrosh makes his appearance.

Garrosh Hellscream says: What’s the matter? Surprised to see me?
Arthak Saurfang says: Given that you were missing and presumed dead… yes.

Garrosh laughs.

Garrosh Hellscream says: Missing and presumed dead. That is certainly one way to put it, Arthak.

Gul’dan glances at Arthak, but then turns his gaze back on Garrosh.

Gul'dan says: The reasons for our celebrations compound, Hellscream. Your father–
Garrosh Hellscream says: That’s enough out of you, elder. There’s no need for you to play coy, or do you think I wasn’t aware of how you were the one that tried to have me killed? By your hand, nonetheless.

Garrosh looks back at Arthak. Gul’dan recoils in shock.

Gul'dan says: Whatever would give you such an idea, Hellscream?

Garrosh looks about the crowd.

Garrosh Hellscream says: What would give me that idea? Why, the history of manipulation at your hands! You can pretend to play dumb all you want. But we’ve seen your hand in all of this, Gul’dan. The destruction of the Bladewind clan. The war against the draenei. The deaths of Durotan and Draka! Just a few of your long list of crimes. Our home is dead because of you, elder. And the Horde will not dance to your tune any longer.
Arthak Saurfang says: Bold claims, Garrosh.
Garrosh Hellscream says: Yes. Bold claims indeed. But claims you are well aware of, aren’t you, Arthak? You’ve been dancing to the tune of the Shadow Council this whole time. I’m sure even this–

He gestures to the body of Blackhand.

Garrosh Hellscream says: Was all according to your plan. Out with the old, in with the new.

Garrosh looks around the crowd.

Garrosh Hellscream says: This may come as a surprise to you! But Blackhand’s rule was only so long as Gul’dan allowed it. Gul’dan and his Shadow Council. I wonder how many amongst us here have been in on this whole sham.
Arthak Saurfang says: Do you have evidence for any of this?

Garrosh grunts.

Garrosh Hellscream says: What evidence would be sufficient for you, Arthak?
Arthak Saurfang says: Any would be a start. Or, if this is working its way towards a challenge… then that is what it is. But at this stage, I hear words deployed at an opportune moment.
Garrosh Hellscream says: And I hear a warchief that repeats old patterns! Go on, Arthak. Denounce the Shadow Council and its existence to your Horde! Tell them my words are false! And prove you’re no better than the last one.

He jerks his head towards Blackhand.

Garrosh Hellscream says: Any documentation, any tablets, any testimony I present would be bent to his will. No evidence like that… it would be quite useless.
Arthak Saurfang says: Convenient excuse for not having any.
Garrosh Hellscream says: I have all the evidence I need to convict the snake that hides behind you. And so do you. My vendetta is not against you, this day, Arthak. So step aside. Or else. Go on. Tell everyone. Tell them that I’m wrong. DO IT!
Gul'dan says: Hellscream… that is no way to speak to your warchief.
Garrosh Hellscream says: I’m not speaking with you, elder.

It doesn’t seem that Garrosh has any intention of giving Gul’dan an honorable death.

Arthak Saurfang says: No. You’re speaking with me. And asking me to let you murder another chieftain. Isn’t that right, Garrosh? This isn’t a challenge. This is a demand for an execution–
Garrosh Hellscream says: Answer the question, warchief.

The crowd has started to chatter amongst themselves.

Arthak Saurfang says: Fine. I think you are an opportunist. I think you would spin or say any lie to get yourself this far, especially since you and I likely arrived with similar intentions but one of us got there first. This is as good a way to pave the way for the next takeover as any. I think it’s interesting that your father, one of the mightiest warriors in the Horde, one you have a contentious past with, finds himself behind enemy lines while you are presumed dead. If I wanted to kill you, Garrosh, everyone here knows how I would have done it. A challenge. A fight. One of us walks away.
Jorin Deadeye says: That’s because you didn’t want to kill him, Arthak.

Jorin steps out of the crowd.

Jorin Deadeye says: But you are right. If you had intention of following through, you would have found a reason. But you wanted to keep him alive, and ready for a moment he could help you. This is over, Gul’dan. You don’t have Blackhand to hide behind, and Arthak will step aside. It’s what he wants. And if he doesn’t… then he’ll have to be removed as well.
Gul'dan says: This treason will not be tolerated! Arthak. Put an end to this. Command your Horde.

Arthak feels a pressure in his mind, and Arthak hesitates. Suddenly, another voice calls out, and Go’el pushes through the crowd and sprints straight towards Arthak. Magic is washing around his hands.

Gul’dan raises his hand.

Gul'dan says: KILL THEM!

Suddenly, there is the peeling of a warhorn in the distance that echoes across the open air. Chaos starts to emerge in the crowd, various orcs attacking others while more orcs are completely confused.

Magic scintillates around Jorin’s hands. He clasps it between his hands and draws it into his chest, then breathes it out–casting [Silence] over Arthak and Gul’dan. However, Gul’dan uses [Counterspell]--a waft of fel magic swiping the magic aside.

However, Halno subtly casts counterspell to counterspell the counterspell.

Go’el grabs Arthak’s arm as he runs up, meeting Arthak’s eyes. The magic of a [Greater Restoration] pulses through Arthak, and Gul’dan snarls. There is a flash of pain as the geas goes off, inflicting psychic damage. However, his memories come flooding back. Go’el pulls him briefly out of the bubble of silence.

Go'el says: It’s time, Arthak.

Arthak gets big as he uses giant’s might, steps fully out of the silence, and bellows to the crowd.

Arthak Saurfang says: Your Warchief commands you to STOP!

As Arthak’s voice echoes across the crowd, the fighting freezes. Gul’dan is watching Arthak with eyes that don’t look happy, and Jorin lets the silence drop.

Arthak is shaking slightly, a tear or two dropping down his face as he remembered that he didn’t try to kill his friend. He sees Shaspira and Aracyra floating from the top of Stormreaver Spire–watching. Jubei’thos is still there, several dead orcs around him. He also sees Varok, who had looked quite confused, and is now watching Arthak with a great deal of interest.

Arthak Saurfang says: Stop. Look around you. Look at who you are fighting. Brothers and sisters. The Horde. I made a promise. Whatever his flaws, I made a promise to him.

He points at Blackhand’s body, tearing his eyes away from Shaspira and refocusing them on Garrosh.

Arthak Saurfang says: And I intend to keep it. Everything Garrosh said. Every word spoken this day. It’s the truth. My friends. My kin. We have been deceived. We have been lied to. At the heart of the Horde, since its very beginning, there has been a seed. A seed of lies that has grown along with us. Spreading its root into every corner. That seed–the Shadow Council–has killed good orcs. Good chieftains. It has taken everything we had to be proud of. Everything the Horde should have been and twisted it to the purpose of its real masters. I know this better than anyone. I am the son of Broxigar the Red. I am one of the assassins of Mannoroth. And I am a member of the Shadow Council. In service to the Council, I have lied. I have killed those who were not deserving. And I had to twist my own mind to avoid having to kill more.

His eyes had drifted over the crowd, and he looks at Garrosh again.

Arthak Saurfang says: But every life I have taken, every lie I have spoken, every stain I have put upon my honor was so that I might succeed. So that WE might succeed where my father, and my grandfather, and so many others failed. So we might free ourselves. The Council killed Durotan and Draka. They used the blood of the pit lord to chain us. That feeling in your hearts, the fire that died, that was their chains. That was Mannoroth. A good–a great–orc sacrificed himself to break that chain. All of you. Think of what we have done. The wars we have fought. The enemies we have chosen. Think about the fire that was in our veins. Think what it led us to. Not glory. This is not glory. This is what it is to be the dog at the end of a chain. The Horde is supposed to bring us together. To serve our people. And since its foundation, it has failed. It has been used to keep us asleep. Our minds quiet, while our hands did the work of our masters. We are slaves. We are slaves to the Legion. So all of you looking, and listening, some have already picked your side. Against the Legion. Against the Council. For the Horde. And some of you have picked the other side. But right now, those of you who have not chosen, and any who have chosen the Council–you have a chance here to make a choice. We fight the strong. We protect our own. And who is stronger than the ones who have put us in chains? Who is the more glorious fight? Conquest of a world that does not know us, or liberation for our entire people? I have lied and dishonored myself to get here and be your warchief, and this very well may be the last command I will give. The last day of my short reign. My command is this: make your choice, and I hope it’s the right one.

Arthak looks over the crowd, and his eyes settle on Shaspira. Varok steps from the crowd.

Varok Saurfang says: I for one, believe the warchief’s words ring true. All of us have been in a cycle of endless wars for as long as most of us can remember. And if the warchief was the one to wake us from this endless dream, I am glad to be awake. I will serve the Horde as I always have. What of the rest of you?

Many orcs that were confused take their fists and pound them firmly on their chests. Many of those who were fighting do the same. Most of the crowd seems to have made some indication of allegiance.

Shaspira says: So it was you?

Shaspira slowly touches fully down on the top of the stairs. Aracyra was not far behind–looking on with confusion, anger, hatred, and pain. Arthak shrinks to his normal size.

Arthak Saurfang says: It was me.
Shaspira says: You were the missing piece of the puzzle.
Arthak Saurfang says: Always was. You…

Shaspira’s hooves click softly on the stone as she descends.

Shaspira says: I should be furious. I should erase your existence from the world for what you’ve done. Ensure that no one would ever remember your story. I should excise your very presence from the annals of history. And yet… I have not a shred of anger left to give. No, I suppose I can’t decide what I feel right now.

The crowd parts to let Shaspira pass.

Shaspira says: Whether it should be pride, or disappointment.
Arthak Saurfang says: I think both are fair. You told me, when we first met, that you had faith I wouldn’t make the mistakes my father did. I have not. And much of that, I have you to thank–strange as it may be. Not that it matters. You were the only thing that made me doubt what I was doing.
Shaspira says: Then I suppose ‘tis simply a shame that we did not have more time.

Gul’dan shambles forward.

Gul'dan says: Lady Shaspira, this isn’t the end! This doesn’t have to be the end--with your might, we can–
Shaspira says: No, Gul’dan. Look around. It’s obvious you lost this fight.
Arthak Saurfang says: He is right, Lady Shaspira, though I don’t think in the way he intends. This doesn’t have to be the end.
Shaspira says: No, and I somehow doubt it will be. I have one thing to ask of you, Arthak. As you and your Horde continue to live and eek out what existence you may manage, I implore you to stay out of my way. You’ve earned this victory. And I have lost many who I have considered friends in my life. Do not make me remove another by my own hand.

Shaspira turns, her back to Arthak. She pulls out a jet black and red ruby.

Arthak Saurfang says: You don’t have to go back to them. They don’t deserve you. Either of you.
Azgadaan says: It’s true. You both deserve better.

Azgadaan’s alter self melts away, revealing his true appearance.

Shaspira says: That’s where you’re wrong. Both of you, though it’s kind for you to say. It’s not too late.

Aracyra looks at Azgadaan.

Aracyra says: You’re here. You were here this whole time?
Azgadaan says: I was.

Shaspira looks at Azgadaan, completely unsurprised.

Shaspira says: It seems Arthak was not the only one keeping secrets.

Nyxxa removes her mask in the crowd.

Azgadaan says: I have always been here.

Aracyra’s eyes look at Arthak.

Aracyra says: I’m sorry I didn’t tell you I left…
Arthak Saurfang says: I understand. I’m sorry it’s happening like this.

Aracyra looks back at Azgadaan and holds her hand out to him.

Aracyra says: We need to go.
Azgadaan says: What do you think they’ll do to me? They’ll destroy me just like they did my mother.
Aracyra says: It doesn’t need to be like that! You’re not your mother. You’re not like these people. You’re like us. You’re like me! You don’t have to make the mistakes she did. This is all a misunderstanding.
Azgadaan says: She didn’t make a mistake. She believed what she was doing. And I believe that there is a better way forward than this endless violence that the Legion champions to bring everything under its banner. The burning crusade has destroyed more lives than it has helped. I can’t live in that society. Not anymore. And I don’t want to.
Shaspira says: There are things much worse in this dreadful existence than war. Arthak I pray that you do not live long enough to see it. And Azgadaan… I can only hope you are prepared for when you must face it.

Shaspira glances at Nyxxa, but says nothing. Azgadaan’s eyes are locked on Aracyra, but Shaspira traces an arcane sigil in the air and opens a small gate. On the other side of the gate is Argus.

Shaspira stops at the portal and turns her head to the side.

Shaspira says: I’m sorry we never got the chance to share that drink together, Arthak.

Arthak starts to approach her and takes off Traitor’s Gift.

Arthak Saurfang says: Me as well. One last thing.

He holds the sword out to her.

Arthak Saurfang says: For your collection, or for your hand, should you choose it. I don’t think I’m going to need it anymore.

The blade is drawn from his hand, and Arthak takes her hand momentarily.

Arthak Saurfang says: The person we see ourselves as can be as much of a chain as duty. All chains can be broken, Shaspira.
Shaspira says: Not all chains, Arthak.

Shaspira takes the blade, her eyes admiring the craftsmanship with a smile. She looks at Arthak one last time, and then steps through the portal. Aracyra stands there for a moment as Azgadaan also approaches. She steps back away from him.

Azgadaan says: I believe what I’ve done is right and paves a better path for myself, my friends, and my loved ones.
Aracyra says: I was never on that list, was I?
Azgadaan says: The day I met you was a great day. You were added to that list. I want to spend so much more time with you… but I don’t think I’ll be able to do that for some time.
Aracyra says: You can! You can still come with me!
Azgadaan says: I cannot walk that path with you. That path leads…
Aracyra says: I can protect you. We can protect each other! These people are just going to use you. Everyone is always just trying to use you.
Azgadaan says: And I’ve used them to get what I want. I want a future where I don’t have to keep watching my back. I’ve seen so many people die on Argus just because someone wanted them dead! For frivolous reasons or otherwise, they’re dead. I’ve killed people that don’t need to be gone right now. I don’t want to be a part of that world. I need to be my own master. I will not be commanded and pointed--I will pick and choose what I do. There is a better path. Here. I want to see you on it with me one day. If not now. But that’s up to you. Knowing you’ve manipulated me in the past… it hurt me. But I still want to see you on this path with me. You deserve more than to be commanded about. You are Aracyra. You’re not someone’s lap dog.
Aracyra says: I know, Azgadaan. You’re right. You’ve been right about so many things, and I’ve learned so much. But you’ve chosen your path. You think you know what you need to do, and I promised I wouldn’t use tricks–not this time. For so long, I’ve done that to get everything I want. But now I’m realizing… that was wrong too. I didn’t just want you to come, after all. But there was one thing you weren’t right about, Azgadaan. You may want me on that path–whatever choices you made–but you don’t need me. You never have. Goodbye, Azgadaan.

She turns away.

Azgadaan says: Then stay safe.

Aracyra clenches her fists.

Azgadaan says: Know that these red eyes we share mean something. If we disappear, we never come back the same–if we come back at all. So… stay safe: the woman I have in my heart.

Aracyra looks back at him, but as the portal begins to waver she moves through it. They are left with residual magic, and nothing more.

Azgadaan looks at Arthak.

Azgadaan says: We have things to do.

He puts a hand on Arthak’s shoulder and casts [Heal].

The group turns back to face Gul’dan, but he is gone. Garrosh looks around.

Garrosh Hellscream says: Where is he? Where did he go!?
Arthak Saurfang says: Magic.
Nyxxa says: Well and good that he wasn’t struck down. Otherwise…

She looks at Arthak.

Nyxxa says: You know what we learned.
Arthak Saurfang says: It would have taken me too. A fair trade, but how it is. Word should be sent to Dal’rend before Gul’dan gets to him–if he hasn’t already.
Garrosh says: What of the reset of the Shadow Council? We can’t just sit here and let them escape! Those who are still here.
Oronok Torn-heart says: So that is what this is all about!

Oronok walks out of the crowd.

Oronok Torn-heart says: And to think I was taking a short respite, only to hear the sounds of battle. Looks like you’ve been busy.

He steps over the body of Blackhand.

Arthak Saurfang says: Still am. Garrosh, Oronok Torn-heart.
Garrosh Hellscream says: I’m aware.
Oronok Torn-heart says: No need to get your loin cloth tied, Hellscream. I have no intention of throwing my life away tonight. The rest of the Council loyal to Gul’dan is already fleeing the city. Though I’m sure you already know that. The rest of you could have figured that out.

A rylak swoops down and lands, Zaela on its back.

Zaela says: Hellscream! The rest of the orcs loyal to Gul’dan are fleeing the city!

Oronok points at her.

Oronok Torn-heart says: Right on schedule.

Arthak pulls out Mor’ghor’s head and tosses it to her.

Arthak Saurfang says: For you.

Zaela catches it instinctively, and then squints.

Zaela says: There will be time for questions later. You on our side?
Go'el says: We’re on the same side now. Tell us what you know, we’ll do what we can to incapacitate the Shadow Council.
Varok Saurfang says: The Blackrock clan is at your command, Warchief.
Jorin Deadeye says: As are the Bleeding Hollow.

Garrosh looks at Arthak with a conflicted face.

Garrosh Hellscream says: Well, are you going to give orders or stand there bleeding?
Arthak Saurfang says: First thing’s first, we need to secure the city. Shadowsword are still a problem, as are Shadow Council loyalists. Purge them from the city. Hellscream, you and Zaela--you’re the fastest. Harry and disrupt. Uncle, securing the city. Blackrock have numbers and expertise. Oronok, you know the Shadow Council. If you have magic, get me in contact with Dal’rend Blackhand as soon as you fucking can. Who else is on our side?
Jorin Deadeye says: In order to contact him we need to know where he is. He’s been on the front lines. There’s no guarantee we can reach him–unless he sleeps. That provides its own problems, but we can try.
Garrosh Hellscream says: We have representatives from most of the clans in the city. I’ll send loyal runners to them to inform them of the changing circumstances, but we have names and faces of Shadow Council members, and general locations. Already are our people working to take them down.
Arthak Saurfang says: Since you set this off, I’m glad this is also happening. Well played Garrosh, and Jorin.
Garrosh Hellscream says: I’m just glad I didn’t need to stain my blade with your head, Saurfang.

Garrosh and Arthak look at Jorin.

Garrosh Hellscream says: As for you, we will speak later on this little stunt, Deadeye. All of us may have something we would like to share.

Jorin smirks.

Jorin Deadeye says: I’m sorry, Hellscream, were you saying something? I was scouting the area already.
Nyxxa says: I’m just glad you remembered.
Jorin Deadeye says: Looks like Arthak wasn’t the only one holding a few white lies. Must have slipped my mind.
Arthak Saurfang says: I’m not dead and we’re in a civil war now. We can focus on that later. You all know your capabilities. We need to draw battle lines. Figure out who we can talk to.
Go'el says: I think, if we can, we should incapacitate any who we think might be turned. Lower ranking members of the Shadow Council may be good targets. The stronger ones and death knights will probably stay loyal to the end. Others may be convinced.

Garrosh chuffs.

Garrosh Hellscream says: Yes, I suppose that’s an option, but it puts our people at risk trying to save theirs.
Arthak Saurfang says: A Shadow Council member saved your life, Garrosh. Maybe there’s some hope for the others.

Arthak looks at Oronok and Halno.

Arthak Saurfang says: If you could help them identify who can be turned. If we don’t turn them, well.
Oronok Torn-heart says: Gladly! Though it might take me some work to catch up to my sons. I’m sure I’ll find them around here somewhere.

Oronok waves and walks off.

Halno says: We should check out Teron’gor’s tower and ensure the death knight research is destroyed.
Arthak Saurfang says: If you could focus on that, Halno. Check with Chieftain Stormbreaker of the Broken Blade. See if she has soldiers she can lend to you.

Halno looks slightly incredulous, as does Garrosh.

Garrosh Hellscream says: Are you sure this one can be trusted?
Halno says: Trust me, I would love this all to be destroyed. And I want to return my sleep once this is over.
Garrosh Hellscream says: That will have to be good enough for now.
Azgadaan says: he hasn’t betrayed us yet.
Arthak Saurfang says: He’s been with me for quite a while. Do you think I would have kept him if his loyalty was in doubt?
Garrosh Hellscream says: It’s not his loyalty I’m concerned about. No matter. Jorin.
Jorin Deadeye says: Stormreaver Spire, yes?
Garrosh Hellscream says: Lets see what we can find.

Jorin, Garrosh, and a few of Garrosh’s people turn to head towards the tower.

Arthak Saurfang says: Are the Thunderlord chieftains yours?

Garrosh nods.

Garrosh Hellscream says: How did you know?
Arthak Saurfang says: A guess. Ger’hel is with me.
Garrosh Hellscream says: She’s alive?
Arthak Saurfang says: And angry.
Garrosh Hellscream says: Fuck. Well I suppose that’s a problem for later. Where is she?
Arthak Saurfang says: I know she’s around.

Garrosh looks at Go’el.

Garrosh Hellscream says: What is it about women from the Frostfire Ridges that makes them so difficult to track!
Go'el says: They’re from the Frostfire Ridges. I don’t think we can expect a southerner like you to keep track of them.

Garrosh growls and shoves by Arthak.

Garrosh Hellscream says: Come on!

They head towards the tower as Go’el and Arthak exchange a look.

Nyxxa says: Azgadaan and Levia, before we lose too much time, we should reach out to the skarvyn. We could potentially use them to cut off some escape routes. They know it better than most of us.

Azgadaan agrees.

Arthak feels the presence of the geas return to his mind, and Azgadaan shoots a sending to the skarvyn to warn them of Nyxxa’s arrival before he opts to go with Halno to help him burn research.

Nyxxa slips into the sewers and makes her way to the Burnt Grove. She can hear some of the skarvyn talking amongst themselves, and she opts to make herself known.

Nyxxa says: Something has happened. Can you take me to Eralaz?

The skarvyn nod and they lead her to the grove. A few more leaves had appeared on the tree. Erelaz offers a smile for as much as he can with his draconic snout.

Nyxxa says: I’m sorry to say I don’t have completely good news.
Eralaz says: We heard strange things. Sounds of battle and sounds that remind us of when the great light kept all within.
Nyxxa says: There’s been an upheaval.

Nyxxa goes in to summarize the day’s events.

Nyxxa says: The Horde has escaped the hold of the Legion.
Eralaz says: They are now controlled by the one called Arthak Saurfang? He has sproven himself to be a friend of our people. This Legion… they are a forc eof destruction?
Nyxxa says: They mean to bring our world to its heel and destroy anyone that doesn’t comply. They tried before and failed.
Eralaz says: Our people are not warriors, but we can protect ourselves. Is there something you need from us?
Nyxxa says: Those who are allies to the Legion seek to escape. If you could tell us routes out of the city, it would be incredibly helpful. I’m sure Arthak would be grateful as well.

Eralaz nods.

Eralaz says: We should not put ourselves at risk, but those confident in their abilities will keep an eye on the tunnels. We will send some scouts with you so they may pass information to your companions. As long as our people are promised safety, we owe you as much for defeating the Crimson.
Nyxxa says: I don’t think that will be a problem. Once we have time, there is news I would bring from Outland, but there is urgency now.
Eralaz says: Of course. The tribulations of the present will take precedence. We will do what we can. Should we encounter individuals that threaten our livelihood, we will attempt to protect ourselves.

Nyxxa nods.

Nyxxa says: Thank you.

Eralaz gives some orders to a few scouts that then return with Nyxxa to act as guides. They are able to find one of the several groups they were seeking and managed to get some information to triangulate with other groups–rapidly leaping from scout group to scout group to further cut off Shadow Council escapes.

Arthak had coordinated some mages and clan leaders to get things locked down. It seemed the Kor’kron had people in most clans. Several of the mages start to try and reach Rend to inform him of what happened and state that the warchief wanted him present to burn his father’s body.

One of Jorin’s people reports.

Bleeding Hollow Necrolyte says: Warchief, I got word back. I was able to reach him. He... he said that he’ll be here as soon as he can.
Arthak Saurfang says: Give him my thanks. And tell him to be careful.

The necrolyte nods and goes off to send the follow-up message.

Arthak had started to move through the city to better coordinate, and he witnesses a skirmish between a few warlocks. As he draws his blade, an axe buries itself into the back of one of the warlocks’ heads. A figure steps from the shadows and retrieves the axe--it’s Ger’hel.

She smiles.

Ger'hel says: Well well, warchief. It looks like you’ve been busy. Why is it that everywhere you go, chaos seems to unfold?
Arthak Saurfang says: Because I am war, and that is what war is.

Ger’hel smirks.

Ger'hel says: I’m glad you made it this far. Now that you can uphold my end of the bargain, my people are ready to uphold theirs as well.

She points to the docks and Arthak sees several vessels as well as rylaks swooping around.

Ger'hel says: Seems a few loyalists have captured some vessels. Our rylak riders are trying to keep them without destroying them. I’m not sure what they were planning with that blockade.
Arthak Saurfang says: They’re clever. And if not, we’d still be losing ships we could use.

There is a rumble of canon fire as the further Shadow Council ships get into canon range of the Kul Tiran blockade. Suddenly, there is a splash of water, and in the distance Arthak can see fires start to burst forth. It’s fel fire, and two small wings curl out of the water along with arms that dig itself into the side of a Kul Tiran ship and drag it under. It’s a pit lord--likely Azgalore.

Arthak Saurfang says: …I wondered where he was.

A beam of fel energy shoots through two more Kul Tiran ships.

Ger'hel says: You weren’t lying about them being clever.
Arthak Saurfang says: They wouldn’t have lasted this long if they weren’t.

The attack of the pit lord had dispersed the blockade, and Ger’hel whistles for some rylak riders to take off. However, there is another blade of energy which immediately disintegrates one of the rylaks--dropping its rider into the sea.

One of the captured vessels explodes in an attempt to self-sabotage, but others are successfully captured.

Arthak Saurfang says: By the way, you should know. Garrosh and I… our forces are allied for the moment. Ideally for long term. That includes your sons. Before you worry, I will keep my promise, but it is more complicated now.

Ger’hel furrows her brow.

Ger'hel says: Hellscream does not matter for me. My feud is only with the last vestiges of my blood line. After it is removed, you can do what you wish. Whatever allegiances my treacherous spawn have created matter not before the warchief’s decree, and you are a man of your word, is that right, Arthak?
Arthak Saurfang says: Yes. I made a promise, and I will keep it.
Ger'hel says: Very well. Then there shouldn’t be a problem.

Ger’hel hefts an axe on her shoulder.

Ger'hel says: Lets get back to killing your enemies, shall we?
Arthak Saurfang says: …Lets.

Halno approaches Azuka, who is looking about.

Azuka Stormbreaker says: Halno.
Halno says: Greetings, chieftain.

Azuka blinks rapidly.

Halno says: Well, as prepared as you are–I’m sure–for this. I need some troops if you can spare them. For raiding Teron’gor’s tower.

Azuka nods.

Azuka Stormbreaker says: That shouldn’t be a problem. Those who are here have just been securing the area and finding any injured or wounded. I wasn’t sure what else to do yet… if you think that–

She shakes her head.

Azuka Stormbreaker says: Arthak entrusted you to do this, and I’ll do the same. Lets go.

Halno blinks.

Halno says: Why does that sound like you’re coming with?
Azuka Stormbreaker says: Because I intend to.
Halno says: I guess I can’t really argue with my chieftain, can I? Well, I do not have the position to say no.
Azuka Stormbreaker says: If you expect me to order our people into danger without going with them, then you misunderstand my intentions as a leader.

Azuka is shaking slightly.

Azuka Stormbreaker says: Alright, lets go clean up this island before Veena gets back.
Halno says: Yes, we should ensure none of this taint remains.

Azgadaan and Halno head to Sunstrider Isle along with Azuka and some other troops. The ruined academy is still there, and they actively need to fight through hastily reanimated undead but they manage to get to Teron’gor’s tower.

Already, some of the other Horde-loyal soldiers are fighting off the uncontrolled undead that are there to slow them down.

They scour the interior of the tower, but something isn’t adding up. Halno notices a false wall inside, and he presses it upon discovering it. A second stairwell extends into the basement. Down below, he can Teron’gor’s voice.

Teron'gor says: We’ve been found. Finish it.

Magic goes off, and the group storms down--finding a small group of necrolytes and death knights. Teron'gor had already disappeared.

As the group swarms in, a necrolyte casts a shadow bolt which slams into the back of the last death knight that remains.

Necrolyte says: We have no intention of following them. We were only doing what we had to.
Azgadaan says: Then tell me, what did you have to do?

Azgadaan looks around the room. It seems the room was some sort of repository and archive that was repurposed to hold in-progress experiments, including parts of more scepters.

Necrolyte says: They took everything they could and told us to destroy the rest so the warchief didn’t get his hands on it. They already took what they could, but it wasn’t much, and fled with the rest.

Halno snort-laughs.

Halno says: So he was just going to do our work for us.
Necrolyte says: Aren’t you trying to take the research back?
Halno says: My goal was to make sure nobody else got their hands on this. Like the elves. Or the felblood elves. Or really anybody else. This? All of this? It was a horrible mistake.

The surrendering necrolytes glance at each other.

Necrolyte says: Um... the ritual to capsize this place would have taken five of us… do you just… want to help then?
Azgadaan says: Was there anything taken from the destroyed school?
Necrolyte says: There are some things around. We can get some of them first… I don’t know what Gorefiend took, but we can find out first, and destroy the rest.
Halno says: It would be best to see what would be destroyed in such a collapse.
Necrolyte says: Just a clarification, you aren’t going to kill us, right?
Azgadaan says: As long as you swear fealty to the new warchief and promise not to betray him or any under his rule, of course not.
Necrolyte says: That… seems fair enough.
Halno says: But just to be clear for the moment, spellcasting focuses please?
Necrolyte says: …Right.
Azuka Stormbreaker says: How many members of the Shadowmoon are left?
Necrolyte says: I’m not sure. I can’t imagine all of them left, but most likely did out of fear or choice.
Azuka Stormbreaker says: I guess that’s for the warchief to sort out.
Halno says: Sounds accurate to me.
Azgadaan says: Alright, lets get down to business.

Halno gathers up the abandoned scepters.

Halno says: These take more damage than a collapsed building to break.
Necrolyte says: You would probably be the expert on that.
Halno says: Unfortunately.

He stuffs the scepters in his bag. They search the area and find some things that would be useful. They opt to not actually collapse the structure and instead get all the dangerous research to destroy it more conventionally.

They hear sounds from up above, and as they peek out, they can also see the explosion of Azgalore destroying the blockade.

Azgadaan says: Wasn’t aware they enjoyed swimming.
Halno says: Who knows with them. They enjoy breaking stuff. That’ll probably be a problem.
Azgadaan says: It is, but hopefully from this schism we won’t be blamed for it.
Halno says: Meh. Not currently our problem.
Azgadaan says: Nor can we deal with it right now.

Halno hands over the list of things they had found to Azuka.

Azuka Stormbreaker says: Is… this everything you found?
Halno says: Everything so far.
Azuka Stormbreaker says: I’ll… make sure it gets to the warchief.

Halno shrugs.

Halno says: I’m used to answering to the chieftain to make sure I don’t do anything…

He makes spooky finger motions.

Azuka Stormbreaker says: Right. Good work.

The day winds down to an easy but unnerving peace as the night starts to settle down. It’s close to dawn before the group realizes things are as alright as they are going to be. Azgadaan returns to the mansion room he had shared with Aracyra, and some of her things are still there.

The scrying mirror was still there, as was a hairbrush and a few dresses and undergarments. Things she had abandoned, having not planned on leaving. It’s very quiet.

He sees his own reflection in the mirror, and the last warning he gave Aracyra passes through his mind. He realizes that he is likely the only eredar here. In fact, the number of demons could be counted on a few hands, if that.

Azgadaan adjusts a few things on the night stand, bathes, and lays in bed. He tries to sleep, but sleep does not come. He fiddles with the necklace that has the sending stone attached to Aracyra’s.

September 18th

That morning, Arthak had not slept, and he sees the sun peak over the horizon. Suddenly, he gets a sharp pain in his head. Arthak grunts, blood dripping from his nose as he grabs the side of his head. Nyxxa had arrived to report in.

Nyxxa says: Arthak?
Arthak Saurfang says: Hrmmm… Gul’dan’s parting gift.

Arthak wipes blood off his face.

Arthak Saurfang says: So. Anyway.

Nyxxa gives her report, and as the day fully emerges it becomes painfully obvious there is a lot of work to be done. Arthak puts out a call for leaders to meet him for a war council, but he goes to find Garrosh personally.

Nyxxa goes to check in on Azgadaan and she catches him as he is leaving the mansion in the morning.

Azgadaan says: Morning.
Nyxxa says: Morning. How are you feeling?
Azgadaan says: Dirty. How are you?
Nyxxa says: Adjusting. A lot has happened and there’s a lot still to do.
Azgadaan says: Yeah. Uh. I don’t think I’ll be needing this anymore. I asked it a lot of questions last night.

He hands the wisdomball over to Nyxxa, who puts it away.

Nyxxa says: I’m glad you could get use out of it.
Azgadaan says: Yeah. I accidentally dropped it on my face.
Nyxxa says: Oh… at the very least, you were able to… that was likely as amicable as it was going to be.
Azgadaan says: Probably. Well, the news is out, so I don’t need to hold back anymore.
Nyxxa says: You’re no longer beholden to the Legion.
Azgadaan says: I am not.
Nyxxa says: So, what will you call yourself?
Azgadaan says: I don’t know.
Nyxxa says: You have time.
Azgadaan says: I do. But I imagine they’re still going to call me something like “traitor”
Nyxxa says: Well, the best you can do is own it, and use it to bring strength and hope to other like-minded individuals. That’s what you wanted, right?
Azgadaan says: It is.
Nyxxa says: But there was something I wanted to bring up… I struggle with words at times.
Azgadaan says: It’s fine, just hit me with it.
Nyxxa says: If…

She takes something out of one of her bags.

Nyxxa says: In spite of everything, I… I want to make sure no matter what–and sometimes I struggle–that you are not alone. It’s going to be a very lonely path going forward, but you have people like you at your side. Even if they have different backgrounds. If you’d have it, I want you–you don’t have to–but I’d very much like to see you as family. I kind of already do. That of course is up to you, but before everything happened…

She hands something over.

Nyxxa says: There’s a second one. I recall from before the invasion, it was your nameday. A year has passed, and I’m not very good at dates… I wanted to make a present.

The object looks like a wooden coin with an orb in the center that is glowing softly like the tree. It has a feather pattern around the orb. It’s a feather token.

Azgadaan laughs, realizing what it is.

Azgadaan says: Thank you very much, Nyxxa.
Nyxxa says: I have a second one almost done. I figured it might be useful. The next time I won’t be able to cover you if you take a fall.
Azgadaan says: I do have a lot of hard falls. As for the family thing… I don’t know yet. I need time to think, but thank you Nyxxa.

Azgadaan moves in for a hug, and Nyxxa hugs him back.

Azgadaan says: Nyxxa, we need to go to the others, but I do recommend one thing. Maybe you should take a bath before you go. You smell like you crawled out of several sewers…
Nyxxa says: Oh. I did. Maybe the orcs will take it as a plus, but, yeah, I should probably do that.

As Halno makes his way towards the palace, he gets the sense he is being followed–though it’s not by someone that is trying to mask their presence. Halno stops and turns around.

Halno says: Something I can help you with?
Unknown Voice says: Yes, actually.

It’s a feminine voice, and the woman that steps out has as a cowl. She does not seem to be an orc. A violet eye sparkles under her robes.

Hooded Woman says: Don’t worry, I’m not here to do anything untorid. I just heard you may be interesting in meeting a group of individuals that share a mutual interest
Halno says: You heard correctly. This is relevant to you because?

There’s a smile.

Hooded Woman says: Because I’m one of those individuals, obviously.

Halno gives a sarcastic gasp.

Hooded Woman says: I know. Big surprise. It’s not wise for me to pull my cowl. Wouldn’t do for one of the smallteeth to be found in the alleys of the city. That said, you don’t seem to mind so much. I’m here to deliver a message.
Halno says: Very well.
Hooded Woman says: The Council of the Black Harvest would like to speak with you. Head to heart of the catacombs beneath the city. We’ll find you...

She taps her foot on the ground.

Hooded Woman says: Around here.
Halno says: No time restraints?
Hooded Woman says: No time restraints. The only thing I would ask you keep from your warchief is about my presence within it. Until I understand what his reaction would be, I think it might be wise for us to keep the intricacies of our little study group more discrete. I’m sure you understand.
Halno says: Until I think it’s worth reporting, there’s no reason to inform him.
Hooded Woman says: Wonderful. I look forward to speaking with you again soon. Whenever you get around to it.
Halno says: Sooner rather than later.
Hooded Woman says: I had a feeling.
Halno says: Take care, whoever you are.
Hooded Woman says: You can call me Kira.
Halno says: Take care, Kira.

Halno turns and continues on his way, leaving the human woman behind.

Arthak is able to find Garrosh without much trouble, and he finds him atop a watchtower.

Garrosh Hellscream says: What now? More good news I assume?

He turns around and then sees Arthak.

Garrosh Hellscream says: Oh. It’s you. Well. More good news I assume?
Arthak Saurfang says: There’s enough. But first.

Arthak approaches Garrosh and presses his forehead against the other orc’s.

Arthak Saurfang says: I thought I killed you, old friend.
Garrosh Hellscream says: I… I did too.
Arthak Saurfang says: Sorry. It had to happen that way.

Garrosh starts to laugh.

Garrosh Hellscream says: Why am I not surprised? You apologize to me for not killing me, and for going out of your way to do so. Tch! Yeah. Well, I guess you can consider the apology accepted. Well.

Garrosh looks out across the city.

Garrosh Hellscream says: I take it you didn’t get any rest last night either.
Arthak Saurfang says: No, and Gul'dan's parting gift would have interrupted it if I tried.
Garrosh Hellscream says: Jorin mentioned as much. I wasn’t sure if it needed to be a concern based on your responses. Is there any way that can be severed?
Arthak Saurfang says: Gul’dan has a focus. Most likely the gauntlet I made him.
Garrosh Hellscream says: Oh. So that’s why Jorin said to try and take his arm. That makes sense.
Arthak Saurfang says: It does. I’m working on something else.
Garrosh Hellscream says: Of course, you are. You wouldn’t be Arthak Saurfang if you didn’t have a scheme. Oh. Or should I be calling you Arthak Blackhand now?

Garrosh smirks.

Arthak Saurfang says: Gul’dan picked that one.
Garrosh Hellscream says: You know it’s going to stick.
Arthak Saurfang says: Maybe. But I think his son has earned his legacy. Whatever amount of it he wants.
Garrosh Hellscream says: That… I suppose I’ll leave to you. I don’t imagine Dal’rend will be very keen on what occurred here, but you had some rapport with him already.
Arthak Saurfang says: He’s like his father. I want to save the ones we can save.
Garrosh Hellscream says: You realize that many more are going to be beyond your reach. I told as much to Go’el.
Arthak Saurfang says: I know. But today is going to be a very hard day, and I am going to have to make choices I am not going to like. And it is going to be maybe the best day of the years I had. Do you know why?
Garrosh Hellscream says: Hm? You always have a fondness for meetings and tough decisions.
Arthak Saurfang says: Maybe. Probably, yes. But now. Not that.
Garrosh Hellscream says: Because you won’t have to lick Gul’dan’s boot?
Arthak Saurfang says: Something like that. Today I get to be who I want to be. Who I can be. There are some who have been waiting a long time for that. I’m one of them.
Garrosh Hellscream says: Hmph. You were a pain in my ass, Arthak. But I’m… glad that I don’t have to kill you.
Arthak Saurfang says: As am I. I don’t think i could have done it again.
Garrosh Hellscream says: You chickened out the first time. I doubt you could have done so again. For as tough as you pretend to be, Arthak, you’re still soft.

He jabs Arthak in the side.

Arthak Saurfang says: I’m at peace with that.

Garrosh rolls his eyes.

Garrosh Hellscream says: Now you really sound like a Burning Blade. The old ones, that is.

Arthak chuffs.

Arthak Saurfang says: Speaking of, any word of them?
Garrosh Hellscream says: From what I understand all of them have either died or fled. Zaela has been compiling reports, I assume that’s one of the things you’re here to see?
Arthak Saurfang says: Yes, I feel it’s best we all meet.
Garrosh Hellscream says: probably wise.
Arthak Saurfang says: Figure out tomorrow.
Garrosh Hellscream says: And maybe knock a few teeth out of Deadeye’s smarmy little grin.
Arthak Saurfang says: Your quarrel, not mine.
Garrosh Hellscream says: The bastard could have let me know.
Arthak Saurfang says: You have me there.
Garrosh Hellscream says: You know, I have a feeling that Go’el had something to do with this too. Why else would he have known exactly what was going on? That cheeky bastard. He plays the nice one, but I feel like he is just as sneaky as Jorin is.
Arthak Saurfang says: I was going to have him infiltrate your lot.
Garrosh Hellscream says: Yeah. He found us. I feel like he and Jorin had a more in-depth conversation.
Arthak Saurfang says: I have theories as to how news spread.
Garrosh Hellscream says: Well. We’re alive. And we can fight another day. Even if didn’t get Gul’dan’s head today, his days are numbered.

Arthak smiles.

Garrosh Hellscream says: …Oh boy. You got a scheme again. Don’t tell me, we’ll wait until we meet with the others. I wouldn’t want to ruin your surprise.
Arthak Saurfang says: Oh. Just not that one. I have a few for today.

Garrosh shakes his head and starts to head down the tower.

The group meets in the large meeting room in the palace. There are representatives of many of the clans. Arthak had invited Viridius--though the ethereal had politely declined--as well as Eralaz and Loryx. Eralaz looks at peace, but the others look ready to defend their spiritual leader.

There are no representatives of the Blacktooth Grin. But Varok is there representing the Blackrock. Jorin is there for the Bleeding Hollow–who Nyxxa promptly hugs.

Nyxxa says: Thank you so much!
Jorin Deadeye says: You didn’t really think I was going to leave our only possible knowledge of the truth with someone with a history of amnesia, did you?
Nyxxa says: That was very smart!
Jorin Deadeye says: it’s good to see you Nyxxa.
Nyxxa says: You too! And that we can meet publically is a relief.
Jorin Deadeye says: For what it means for the future, I’m concerned. Let me let you in on a secret. In all my years that I knew my death was coming, I never felt more alive than right here and right now.

Nyxxa smiles.

Nyxxa says: I’m glad.
Jorin Deadeye says: If I’m lucky I might even live to see the rest of the day without Hellscream caving my skull.
Nyxxa says: Good luck with that.
Jorin Deadeye says: Not to mention the Warchief.
Nyxxa says: Garrosh seems… interesting!
Jorin Deadeye says: That’s a good word. That said, he’s a good man. Just don’t be surprised if you want to throw him.
Nyxxa says: I can understand that.

Nyxxa goes around to greet others she recognizes. Eralaz smiles at her.

Eralaz says: Greetings, Nyxxa. We get to see each other sooner than expected. I did not expect to receive summons. Lorex expects it’s to demand tribute, but I told him he worries too much.
Nyxxa says: I don’t think you have to worry.
Eralaz says: I thought as much, but he does not believe me. I look forward to proving him wrong.
Loryx says [draconic]: We cannot let our guard down. These orcs have killed us in the streets.
Eralaz says [draconic]: Not these ones, Lorex.

The Dragonmaw are represented by Zaela and Nekros Skullcrusher. As Arthak enters, Zaela grabs him.

Zaela says: Was… that head was Mor’ghor, wasn’t it?
Arthak Saurfang says: After Sinestra had her way, yes.
Zaela says: Ha! Only thing I’m sad about is that I didn’t recognize his ugly mug! I’ll mount it on something.
Arthak Saurfang says: Remind me to have it cast in iron.
Zaela says: That sounds like fun! Hey, thanks for not killing Garrosh. He talks a big game, but I don’t think he intended on fighting you. For what it’s worth, I think you’ll do good at this leadership business.
Arthak Saurfang says: I appreciate that.
Nekros Skullcrusher says: You know, the Shadow Council should have known better. It’s no wonder they got stomped on. Warchief! It’s an honor to be here. As far as I’m concerned, good riddance to the Shadow Council.
Arthak Saurfang says: Speaking as a former member, I couldn't agree more.

The Frostwolves are present, represented by Go’el and Rehgar as well as Rokara. Go’el smiles at Arthak and gives the rest a nod. He seems relieved everyone is alive.

There is no one present for the Laughing Skull, but they would likely not be a problem. There are a few necrolyes from the Shadowmoon, as well as an ogre--it’s Dentarg, the ogre who acted as the majordomo of Ner'zhul.

The Stormreavers and Twilight’s Hammer are not present.

Both of the living sons are present for the Thunderlords. Arthak circles around to them.

Skal says: Warchief!
Arthak Saurfang says: Skal. Grotan. I should warn you. Your mother’s here.

Both of the two’s eyes widen.

Grotan says: Ger’hel is alive?

Skal looks around.

Arthak Saurfang says: She’s not here yet. But she wishes to challenge the both of you.

Grotan pales.

Grotan says: I… see…
Skal says: She likely blames us for father’s death.
Arthak Saurfang says: She believes that, either through direct aid or inaction, you are partially responsible for Fenris’s death.

Grotan looks down.

Grotan says: I… see. I suppose that is something we will have to contend with. Thank you for your advance warning, warchief.
Arthak Saurfang says: She has earned the right to make that challenge, but I also know you. I don’t know if you can, but if you can, convince her of your quality.

The brothers look at each other.

Grotan says: We shall try. That is the most we can do.

Arthak puts a hand on each of their shoulders and give them a squeeze before continuing.

The Warsong is represented by Garrosh, who had arrived with Arthak. Azgadaan approaches.

Azgadaan says: it’s good to see you in one piece. And see you and your mate have reunited! I would have kept you abreast of her recovery, but I thought you were dead.

Garrosh looks at Azgadaan.

Garrosh Hellscream says: I suppose I have you to th- I’m sorry, my what?
Azgadaan says: I’m sorry? Was that not the correct term?
Garrosh Hellscream says: What did you say again? Perhaps I misheard.

Arthak snorts in the distance.

Azgadaan says: Your mate. Glad I could help.
Garrosh Hellscream says: perhaps there’s a miscommunication. You do not speak orcish as your first language. Otherwise, what has that woman been telling you?

He rolls his eyes.

Garrosh Hellscream says: Regardless, I suppose I should thank you and your warband for ensuring she survived and retrieving her. Though she told me what went down. Your father must seem quite the fool to foot whatever costs associated with that contraption she is using for mobility.
Azgadaan says: A wheelchair is a useful thing, especially when one does not have use of her legs.
Garrosh Hellscream says: She’s still three times the fighter than anyone in her clan! She may be even more terrifying with that thing.

One of the Warsong whispers to the other.

Warsong Orc says: But… she’s not his mate.

Garrosh swings around and punches the Warsong.

Garrosh Hellscream says: Don’t think the two of us are friends, demon. I don’t trust you fully. So go stand where you’re going to be standing during all this.
Azgadaan says: Oh, I’m fine here.

Garrosh scowls at him.

Garrosh Hellscream says: Alright everyone, shut up!

The crowd quiets down and gives Arthak an opportunity to speak.

Arthak Saurfang says: Before we get into hard decisions, report. Where do things stand?
Varok Saurfang says: The city has been as secured as it’s going to be. We still have scouts scouring the sewers with the help of our new friends. If any of them remain, they will be found. Those who were captured will be questioned and their fates will be in your hands, warchief. Of course, as news continues to spread, the frontlines of the war will become destabilized. We need to decide what to do there.
Jorin Deadeye says: The Bleeding Hollow has individuals beyond the no man’s land at the battle lines. I’ll try to keep us appraised, but there are limitations to communication even with magic. Though I know most of our people will remain, I cannot guarantee all our number wills tay with this new direction of the Horde. There is always opportunity for discrepancy.
Nekros Skullcrusher says: The Dragonmaw have suffered at Mor’ghor, but those that remain will remain steadfast to the true Horde and the warchief. Not whatever facsimile the Shadow Council tried to create!

He spits on the ground, and Zaela nods with a smile.

Go'el says: The Frostwolves stand ready. Our people will do what we can to support those elsewhere, and our wolfriders can carry information quickly and provide support to those who are cut off by inclimate weather. There is a lot of work to do, but we Frostwolves know how to survive difficult seasons. We will weather these challenges together.
Rehgar says: I couldn’t have said it better! That’s why you’re the chieftain, after all.

There are a few skarvyn with Rehgar as well.

Jorin Deadeye says: The Laughing Skull couldn’t be troubled to be here in person. But, uh… Kaz left a message. It was, um, a single finger whether you lived or not, but she said you wanted to guess which ones it would be based on the circumstances. I imagine she’ll reach out if she feels like it, but I don’t think she’ll be a threat.
Dentarg says: It has been a long time since we have spoken to you, Warchief Arthak. The Shadowmoon has been greatly diminished, but those that live are not afraid of death. If you would have us.

His heads speak in unison.

Arthak Saurfang says: I appreciate it, and with respect. I am responsible for the death of your predecessor, Dentarg.

Dentarg holds his hand up.

Dentarg says: On the contrary. Though our former chieftain is no longer in a mortal coil, he knew that his demise was coming at your hand, and he did not fear it, nor do we believe he resents you. Neither do we.

Arthak scrutinizes Dentarg, and they seem to be very strange, but there is no reason to distrust what they are saying.

Arthak Saurfang says: Very well. Understand that more conversation is needed in the future. We need to have a better picture of what the Shadow Council was doing, and its operations in different clans, but I welcome the support of the Shadowmoon.

Dentarg bows.

Dentarg says: You honor us, warchief, and we will do the same. We assure you the Shadow Council holds no more sway over those of us who remain.

Grotan and Skal seem shaken, but Groton speaks up.

Grotan says: The Thunderlords stand in support, Arthak, no matter what.
Arthak Saurfang says: And you honor me with that support. More than you could ever know. Both of you.

The brothers meet his gaze with as much confidence as they could manage. Skal seems to be watching intently for Ger’hel.

Garrosh Hellscream says: The Warsong stands with you. And our riders will join the Frostwolves in spreading information about the new developments and about those that are discussed here.

A few minor clans introduce themselves as well.

Garrosh Hellscream says: I suppose we can start speaking about important matters.
Rehgar says: There’s one more group we should ask, right?

He looks at the Burnt Grove skarvyn, and Eralaz speaks up.

Eralaz says: Oh. Do not fight for us. We are okay.

He’s trying to speak in broken orcish.

Nyxxa says: I can translate if you wish to add things.

Erelaz looks embarrassed.

Eralaz says [draconic]: I was hoping to have a better mastery with orcish… those who know their language are trying to teach me, but I am not a swift learner.

Nyxxa translates.

Arthak Saurfang says: I can’t speak your language either, friend. You can at least speak some of mine.
Eralaz says [draconic]: We thank you for sharing your information with us as neighbors.
Arthak Saurfang says: This actually leads into the first order of business. The Horde needs more than just allies right now. It needs friends. The skarvyn have been aiding us for some time, at least with my old clan. Regardless of what hte future holds, right now we find ourselves on a hostile world surrounded by enemies. There is no better time for us to extend a hand to those friends we have here. So. Eralaz of the Burnt Grove, I would offer you a place in the Horde. That is as a clan.

There is some whispering.

Eralaz says [draconic]: You would honor us with a hand of equality? After everything we’ve done. After the crimes committed by our claws on behalf of the great wyrm?

Arthak looks around the group.

Arthak Saurfang says: I think everyone here knows what it’s like to do things you regret on behalf of the will of another. We all know what that’s like. That more than anything else merits you a place with us, should you wish it.

Eralaz looks at Arthak, and there are tears in his eyes.

Eralaz says [draconic]: We gladly accept your generous offer and would be honored to be a part of your family!
Arthak Saurfang says: Do any object?

There is some discussion amongst the groups, but there does not seem to be any sort of objection.

Rehgar says: I can’t think of anything that would be more worth everything you’ve done. I more than second this motion.

As the motion is translated, many skarvyn hug each other.

Arthak Saurfang says: What will you call yourselves?
Eralaz says [draconic]: As we have been! The Burnt Grove… clan.
Arthak Saurfang says: Then welcome to the Horde, Burnt Grove.

Nyxxa is smiling happily.

Levia Blackflight says: As you might have imagined, most of the other felblood elves scrammed as soon as things went tits up. A few stuck behind. I’ll be talking with them. But, yeah, I guess there’s that. Just let me know, sorry.
Arthak Saurfang says: It’s appreciated. As soon as you have a fuller report, I’d like to hear it.
Levia Blackflight says: Yeah, of course.
Varok Saurfang says: Have we received word from our Amani allies?
Zul'jin says: I did not think we’d be gettin’ ‘ere in time, but I know a thing or two about sneakin’ into the city, mon.

Zul’jin comes strolling in with a number of other forest trolls.
